We Got Married: Global Edition has topped the list of shows most viewed on Chinese media site, iQIYI. The foreign variety show in China stole the top spot by recording an astounding number of 9,320,000 visits daily on the site. The global version of the show has attracted fans from all over Asia because of its celebrity pairings such as 2PM’s Taecyeon with Taiwanese singer Wu Ying Jie aka Gui Gui, F.T Island’s Lee Hong Ki and Japanese actress Mina Fujii.
The show is only four episodes into its 15 episode run, but is already very popular. The global version shows how couples from Korea and a different country (in this case we have Japan and Taiwan) try to make their “marriage” work despite their differing culture and values.
