CJ E&M Ramps Up M Wave Platform, 2PM Taecyeon to Debut Okcat and Sign Fan CDs in First Event

Now fans have a new way to get 'closer' to their idols. Korea's top entertainment distributor and company CJ E&M has launched Mwave, bringing a new way to meet K-pop artists and get access to exclusive events and merchandise. Via the portal, fans can get a chance to receive signed CDs from their favorite K-pop idols.

As to the goal of Mwave, a press release from CJ E&M says, it is intended to be "a global K-culture platform that is geared toward K-Pop and K-Entertainment fans around the world."

Featured under the Mwave shop, CJ E&M also launched a Meet-and-Greet feature. Fans will be able to purchase goods and get access to a live online fansigning with K-Pop artists.

Select artists will be coming to the Mwave studio to greet international fans and sign their purchased CDs. Once fans purchase from the Meet & Greet section, they'll be able to write a message to the star, which will be on display while the artist is in the studio. The artists will directly select people who have purchased their CDs and sign them, while fans can watch right on the Meet & Greet page. (http://mwave.interest.me/meetgreet/view/10)

So, no one feels left out, the feed will also be updated live in five languages by Mwave commentators, into English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Spanish.

2PM's Taecyeon will be Meet & Greet's first guest, and will be promoting items from his very own mascot character, 'OKCAT'.

K-pop Electro Dance rookie, NU'EST is the 2nd artist featured.

CJ E&M's Smart Media's Global Business Division Manager, Lyle Seo said, "The representative Global K-culture platform, Mwave, is bringing the opportunity for international fans to meet K-pop artists and come closer together with this new service. With abundant content, experience in global business and artist participation set as the background, we plan to continue to develop Meet&Greet and Mwave Shop."
